What's the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?

Updated: Apr 12, 2020

What is the one piece of advice you wish you could share with the world? The one thing that you wish someone would have told you years ago?

Here is one of the most important rules I learned a long time ago:

Be your authentic self.

It’s as simple as that. So many of us try to be something we are not.

Being your authentic self is important for three reasons:

1. You’ll be respected for being you. No matter how or WHO you are.

2. You’ll be trusted for being YOU. And trust is the cornerstone of new relationships.

3. If you’re not your authentic self, over time those who get to know you will find or figure out who you REALLY are. And then you’ll have to deal with the repercussions.

So be YOU. The universe didn’t intend for us to be the same as everyone else. We were not intended to be cookie cutter interpretations of things we see on TV.

The world NEEDS YOU to be YOU.

It needs variety and unique perspectives.

It needs rebels and wonderers and dreamers.

It needs free thinkers and outlaws.

It needs you to question why things are the way they are, without compromise.

It needs people who understand CHANGE comes from NEW IDEAS.

It needs people with self confidence to question things that DON’T make sense.

So be BOLD. Be you. Be original. Be authentic.

After all, being authentic means you’ll stop fighting against external forces telling you to be something you are not.

You’ll become the best version of yourself possible.

And you might just change the world in the process.

Thanks for reading and I hope this helped someone out there.
